Q: What is the direct booking process and what methods of payment are available?

A: For direct bookings, please consult the availability and pricing on VRBO or Airbnb; links to both can be found at the bottom of our condo pages. Upon submitting your booking request, we aim to respond within 24 hours with a PayPal invoice, allowing for a secure payment via credit/debit card. To secure your reservation, a 20% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due one month prior to check-in.

Q: What about hurricanes or red tide?

A: Hurricane Preparedness: Hurricane season in our area runs from June through November. While it’s uncommon, there is a possibility of severe weather during this period. Refund Policy: In the event of a mandatory evacuation for Sanibel Island, we will offer refunds or rate adjustments. However, if there's no official evacuation order, our standard cancellation policy applies. Comfort During Storms: Should a storm occur, we’ve got you covered with a selection of puzzles, books, and games to keep you entertained indoors. Plus, post-storm, you might enjoy less crowded beaches and exceptional shelling opportunities. Red Tide Considerations: Red tide can appear and dissipate unpredictably, often impacting only part of your stay. Policy on Refunds: As red tide is a natural occurrence beyond our control, we are unable to offer refunds or rate reductions due to its presence or any resulting beach conditions.

Q: Most condos on Sanibel do check in/out on Saturday. Why do you prefer Friday check in/out?

A: There are two reasons we have chosen to avoid Saturday check/in for our condos: Enhanced Cleaning Quality: Unlike the common Saturday turnovers, our unique Friday schedule means our dedicated cleaning staff faces less rush and fewer constraints. This extra time allows for more thorough and detailed cleaning of our condos, ensuring a spotless and welcoming environment for you. Smooth Arrival Experience: Saturdays on Sanibel can be hectic, especially entering the island via the causeway and on Periwinkle Way, due to the high volume of visitors arriving and departing. By opting for Friday check-ins, we provide you with a smoother, quicker journey onto the island, letting you start your vacation with ease and less traffic.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair and accommodating, taking into account various circumstances that might arise. Here’s a quick overview: 30+ Days Before Check-In: If you cancel or reschedule your stay more than 30 days before your check-in date, you will receive a full refund, minus any non-refundable credit card processing fees. 14-29 Days Before Check-In: For cancellations or rescheduled stays made between 14 to 29 days prior to check-in, you will be refunded 50% of your booking amount, excluding non-refundable credit card fees. Midnight Expiration: Please note that all dates for cancellation deadlines expire at midnight. Special Considerations: We understand that life can be unpredictable, and situations like illness or a family bereavement can occur. In these extreme circumstances, if we manage to rebook any of your nights, we will provide a refund for the amount we were able to rebook. A: Should you encounter any issues during your stay, rest assured that we are here to help promptly and efficiently. As residents of the island ourselves, we're easily reachable via text or phone call. Direct Contact: You won't have to navigate complicated phone menus or wait times like with larger companies. When you call us, you'll be speaking directly to a real person who is ready to assist you. Swift Response: We understand the importance of addressing any concerns quickly. Our local presence allows us to respond and resolve issues swiftly, ensuring minimal disruption to your vacation. Commitment to Service: Providing excellent customer service is our top priority. Q: What's open on the island right now?

A: To find the most current information on open restaurants and shops post-Hurricane Ian, we recommend checking the Sanibel Chamber of Commerce's listings. Their list, while comprehensive, may not include all businesses, particularly those not affiliated with the Chamber. However, it's an excellent resource to get a sense of which establishments are currently operational. Open Businesses in Sanibel, Florida - Sanibel Island Chamber of Commerce (sanibel-captiva.org) Additionally, we're thrilled to share that several new local restaurants are set to open in 2024 and 2025.
